Public Speaking

I enjoy creating and delivering presentations.
I am also experienced in giving speeches.
I have presented slide shows, speeches, and posters about research.
I find it fun.
The process of knowing my audiance and curating an informative and enjoyble presentation is, to me, a consistently good time. If I can include jokes, I like to, but some things (probably most things in a business setting) are better presented as easily digestable slides that hand hold the audiance through complex ideas smoothly. Again, that process is something I find enjoyable to work on and deliver.

Leadership

I have often found myself in the position where I was the defacto-leader due to the fact that most people either don't want to, or don't have the understanding of how to effectively lead.
I have some philosophy on effective leadership:
The leader of any group of people should unerstand that they will most likely be doing the most work.
Leading by example is not only the best way, it's the only way. A leader who barks orders and does nothing themselves builds resentment and scorn.
A good leader should be able to effecively evaluate and balance the skills and weakneses of those under them.
A leader needs to be able to streamline finished tasks into the cumulative whole and smoothly deligate tasks new tasks as tasks are completed.
The behavior and results of the group are the leader's responsibility. Should an issue arrise, outside of the leader's control, it's their job to handle the situation and bear the burden of the situation.
